On the basis that all things have a cycle being a measurement of energy to sustain 'life' in a current particular expression, I would like to explore the idea that this energy can be depleted at varying speeds, and even topped up or renewed. I have been reviewing a few pieces of the energy jigsaw puzzle this morning, including the rice example used in the 'process of transformation' weekend, and the water crystal experiments by Dr Masaru Emoto, and mind powers by John Kehoe, and the like. Also the fact that when Buddhist Monks (as just one example of one form of those who practise and have perfected true meditation) meditate they have a significant and manifested effect on not only themselves, but also those around them, including healing capabilities, boosted plant vitality, connection to the animal kingdom. Harvard among others have done various tests on Monks relating to what happens when they meditate, and have drawn conclusions that indeed it is a controlled outcome. Having read a little relating to the Mahatma letters, HPB when questioned about Master M's age, she talks about a 'limited life force' that we tend to "squalor" and that they (the incarnated Masters) have the ability to renew it, and thus that they continue to stay ageless at a physical level. Add to this the concept I have that money is a manifested form of creative/life energy and looking at the state of the world's personal, business and global burgeoning debt and that this is reflective of a astral, or mental or spiritual debt, I have conspired to form a question relating to it all. Is it possible, that this is not a Karmic debt, but a behavioural debt. I see the difference being, that Karmic Debt is something we have done in the past, that we are now in the process of working off in order to gain a valuable lesson which in turn will raise our awareness, our apportion of consciousness, and our access to more creative energy. Behaviour debt, I see as something we are doing now....which in turn may well produce a karmic debt if not recognised, but is certainly a destructive state to be in. Another perspective of my view may be visually demonstrated. If you imagine that my current perspective in this individualized form is an expression that is a limited life force. Each time my behaviour squanders this life force beyond it's originally expected rate of depletion, I enter into a state of reflected debt in order to present me with the obvious, so as to empower me the capacity to change my behaviour. Each time my behaviour reflects a conservation of this life force this is also reflected.
In addition to this I propose there is a capacity to 'plug in' to the life force of 'others'. This can be demonstrated by the capacity for others to heal, and for us to have an affect on plants, and indeed animals. In addition there is that which is above us be it a master, such as Master M for HPB who was able to provide capabilities to her and heal her; then further up the healing properties of certain meridians of the planet and more. I accept as explained by A Bailey and HPB, that the 'time' spectrum is vastly minute as it rises up the hierarchy tiers, eg 1 second for Sanat Kumara was depicted to be equal to 1000 years for a human perspective. It is easy for me to hypothesize then that the energy values of each tier has an equivalent. This being supposed, it would mean that for someone above helping another below them would use virtually nil of their own life force in the process, but would provide significant benefit for them. This then is why we are encouraged to practice our attention of care and unconditional love on the animal and plant kingdom, to prepare us to become the same at our own level. This is also why through our inability to be able to understand this path we are destined to follow, our interaction with each other is very much one that is selfish, protective of our assets, and trade orientated because of the perceived sense of cost and loss of interacting with each other. Every time we give at this level with our life force, there is a perceived visible cost. Now I have an interesting twist on this.
What if, the cost to our life force was actually our wants, and that our capacity to top up our life force came from helping others at our own tier and below. The more energy force we invest, the more comes back to us in perhaps 10 fold. So if we invest below us, although this is a great investment for the receivers, it costs us so little that 10 times the return is still insignificant and would hardly be noticed when reflected. However, to help others, would be a significant use of our life force, and certainly 10 times would be clearly visible.
Now lets look at what constitutes the opposite of this. Here I am proposing that "wants" or desires cost us energy. If simply having a thought evokes an investment of energy in that context, then desires which are potentially long chain energies, with potential to be habitual energy taxes (desires that become habits) could have the capacity to so significantly eat into our life force, as to form debt. I like to imagine that there is a simple plan prepared before we enter, with an objective and goals that will result in us spiritually evolving at the end of this life time.
The energy is invested (life energy is expressed and attributed) to me to fulfil my goals and in I come. Once in here, the idea is that I will invest in those life tiers that are perceived as being below me to maintain my life force, learn from these actions to do unto others as I would like done to me, and by doing for others, use this energy investment to evolve. The problem is, we are currently living in a global 'ME' environment, where there is little practice of giving below, let alone giving of life energy to those other aspects of self that I deem on an equal evolutionary tier. This ME environment is resulting in life energy being used up in frivolous expressions of personality self, without any connection that renews it. Living in the technology age means desirous ideas are being promoted to the mind prior to the the previous idea being fully realised.
What this means is that when we express an idea as a reflection of who we think we are...our objective is then to experience it, thus transmuting that energy from potential to creative, to expressive, to appreciative, to more potential. But if I stop appreciating it, because I am so busy looking at the next thing I want, or while I am in the process of experiencing it, thus having the capacity to appreciate it, the mind instead draws off my attention to watch tv or be distracted in another way from fully exploring the food that is before me....that expression of how I felt. ( dinner time we often say....what do I feel like? I feel like.......fresh salad. - this is me saying, if I were to describe how I see myself right at this moment as the love energy that I am....I would say I was the taste of a perfectly ripe tomato, combined with a crisp juice cucumber, combined with a sweet young carrot etc. The idea is then for me to go through and experience this expression of self, and in doing so I convert all of that energy into more life force. However, of course I do not do this. Even if I manage to get through to the part where I actually get to ask myself what I feel like....as opposed to the mind getting in first...and saying what reflects it ie pizza/mac donalds etc; I then have to get past the mind to go and get the ingredients and make it, getting the exact ingredients may mean travelling and time let alone putting it all together. And even if I manage to do this, there is then getting past the habit of mutitasking.....being eating with others and talking, or watching tv or reading something etc. Translated, this capacity to gain more life energy has become virtually obsolete. Giving to those tiers that are below us, lacks thoughtful and deliberate intention, and that brings us to doing for others.
We see the cost when we do something for others. The cost of time, or money or the opportunity cost. We weigh up what we perceive WE will gain from doing it. If we perceive there is a net gain from our interaction with another soul, then we will engage. If not we will not.
So where to from here? Well, we have these motivational times throughout our lives such as new years eve resolutions, and to do lists we have, and even our integral theosophy and self transformation course 7 day programmes, just to name a few. What if, it lined up with this concept of life force. What if the integral part related to us looking at how we can contribute to the life force of those above, below and laterally existing in our present. What if our goals revolved around our capacity to be more efficient at converting energy from it's potential states into a state of appreciation both for ourselves and others. What if our actions revolved more around how we can contribute to the life force of others. What if we abstained for a time from our exhaustive deluge of taxation on our life force through desires, how much of that same life force could be better used for the benefit of the planetary logos. And don't for a second think, that our tiniest contribution to the greater energy good, and planetary consciousness would be wasted, unrecognized above for it's insignificance, or unwanted. On the contrary, if 1000 years is only one sec, imagine the number of minutes a planet of individual souls would contribute if each of them individually simply gave up a minute of their ME day to gift upward. 1 billion souls equates to nearly 2000 years worth of contribution. And while that may once again only be converted to 2 seconds worth of time/energy, there is a clear move towards inner growth worldwide, to counter this ME ness and once the 100th Monkey takes a whole and critical mass is reached, the number of secs will become minutes, and days and years and will have a significant effect. The conclusion I have is this: if we change our behaviour, and our direct our thoughts to the benefit of others in all evolutionary directions, our life energy will be so significantly effected, that we will not only move to a state of perpetual abundance and appreciation-thus eliminating all debt both karmic and behavioural, creative and potential, but we will release ourselves from the rat race of spiritual incarceration within the ME centred personality mind.
Just in exploring the concept further regarding how wanting costs us our life force. If we are the expression of something greater, then we are the experience of that same entity. We are the total experience. We do not need to add anything ourselves. This entity expresses us as a life force...and breaths us into existence, and everything that is needed for the total experience to occur. We are that experience, its not our experience. For us to want....is to steal from that life force, something that was destined to be something else. This borrowing, comes up as debt, for it is not ours to borrow. It is not ours to steal. Our objective...is to align ourselves with the experience we were intended to be. Does the tomato need to request it's flavour when it comes into existence, or it's texture? In the same way that tomato is my expression, so too are we. To say we are not whole, is to say that this entity of which we are an expression has expressed it'self to be imperfect and less than whole. This is never going to happen. Would you ever say..I feel like a marked apple or an unripe orange, or a rotten peach to eat. Yet in wanting is this not the same. Detachment then...is the act of aligning ourselves into our role as the experience of an enlightened perfect being, of which we are the perfect expression. What then do you suppose is our role? If we were made in the image of this perfect being - it would be to do unto others etc.
